John Deere B double disk drill auction result

I think it was a 20-7 drill, it was advertised as a 12 footer cylinder lift and had grass seed. Went for $2600. It was in nice shape, but $2600? There were 2 single disk B drill at a sale last week in Livingston, and they both brought $1800.

Sorta makes the B clutch lift 8 footer I bought in 2008 look like a steal at $150

The seller must be very pleased with how that did.
On the flip side, yesterday I watched a nice-
looking Deere 8350 8-20 drill bring only $800 at a
local auction. It had the press wheel attachment
and was used in the field up until a few years ago
when the owner rented out his land.

I'd have taken that drill to $2500 in a heartbeat! That rig would bring $4000 to $6000 here... My "big" drill is a B-C 6-24 single disk. It works fine, but double disk with press wheels would be a far better rig.

Oh, the drill at the sale had 15" marker wheels. I never seen them before, I thought they were only made in 20". Really wish I had taken a picture...

Yeah, there would have been some good buys to be
had at this sale. A like-new Land Pride 6-ft
rotary cutter brought only $500, a field-ready
Gleaner M with header for $950, IH 350 utility
with trip bucket loader for around $1500 (it was
tired-looking but did run), a field-ready New
Holland 68 baler for $150, and a very nice 4020
with Excel cab, AC, and good tires for $7700.
