Hey guys check out the upcoming mecum auction on April 10th and 11th! Which tractors will be the top 5 jd sellers!? My votes go to the 4255 high crop. The 4050 high crop. The 4440 high crop. The 4040 narrow front with creeper open station veggy. And the 4320 front spin! What do you guys think? I wonder what the prices could be!

This is the site to view the item!

I forgot to put my guess for prices.

4255 high crop $60k

4050 high crop $55k

4440 high crop $55k

4040 narrow front creeper $45k

4320 hydraulic front spin $30k

what do you guys think? Does anyone know of any production numbers for any of these? I would guess as little as any deere made!

The last sale in Davenport was a little softer probably 10%.The Hi Crops have a different following and I would say you are little high. The nice 1206s and late 4020 P.S. have lost about $5K and now are bringing $20K versus $25.$3.75 corn has some effect.I sell several tractors and the market for 4455 on down to 4440 is higher than 2 years ago.The market on newer large track &4WD tractors has lost at least 30%.MFWD tractors with loaders under 150H.P. are hot due to the livestock industry doing well.Anything really nice or rare will bring good money.Low houred originals are still the easiest to sell.

(quoted from post at 01:36:01 03/20/15) Not sure on the top five but I would think that the Waterloo Boy
will top the sale.

What have the waterloo boys been selling for? I haven't fallowed them to closely? Good call though! Tons of high dollar tractors!

I agree the Waterloo Boy but myself I prefer using type tractors. There are several nice ones. The New GenII High Crops can be bought right off the farms they are used on and bring much less than regular 4240/4440.My friend who has a large collection of Hi Crops bought a pretty nice one[4240] that runs fine for $12K does have cab.

What are your thoughts on the 4320s and the 4040 narrow front? And the 330 john deere and the 5020?

I have seen nice Waterloo Boys bring anywhere from 60 to 90 thousand depending on the model, shape and degree of restoration. The 330 standard should bring between 20 and 25 also depending on the restoration. It is hard to say by just looking at the pictures but you can tell a lot by driving them even if it is only a short distance.

So overall there are a lot of potentially high dollar tractors! I am going to be at the auction! It will be interesting! Thanks for the response guys!
