620 charging system

I have a 1958 620 on which I replaced the voltage regulator. The charging system was working before but since the voltage regulator went out I then replaced the volt reg. and it doesn't charge. Any help will be appreciated.

You need to re-polarize the genny. John T or others will tell you how.

Temporarily ground the Gens Field post to case then momentarily flash jump a wire from the VR"s BAT terminal over to its ARM (or GEN) terminal (or direct to ARM post on Gen) and you ought to get a spark. Always try the simple fixes first!!!!

How do you know the voltage regulator went out?
More likely a generator problem.

Well I hooked the battery up wrong and trial and error until I found the volt regulator was bad. I got it going this afternoon though. Thanks everybody!
