What was the American version of the 3040 available in Europe? Maybe 2940?
I'm too lazy to do much researching.

The six cylinder Mannheim built 329cu" 3040/2840 was de-tuned with 90 gross flywheel HP and probably 75 or so HP at the pto.
The 359Cu" 3140/2940 was rated at 97HP gross at the flywheel and 80 pto HP.
The early and late sheet metal changes on the 30 & 40 series. Plus the mid 40's production shift to entirely Mannheim confuses tractor ID.
A 2840 is pretty much a 3040 with Delco electrics.
For what ever reason(s) the Mannheim 3120,3130,3040,3140,2840,2940 were not Deere's best effort.

(quoted from post at 17:11:23 03/04/15) I don't believe 3040 is turboed.

The following tractors utilized the same "non-turbo" air intake manifold.

I agree on the Mannheim tractors.
So this would be a six speed tran like 2840?
It is later version with sg body.

Thanks. for some reason I was thinking
2950/55 was turboed.
I haven't been around one for years.
