My JD 4020 1972 version was unable to start so pulled it outta shed but had to force the front wheels to turn left now after its running there is no steering and wheels locked hard left. What are my options here to relieve the pressure I loosed a steering pipe from the steering valve to fron while the other has a small hole worn in it.looking for help from the 4020 experts!

A valve is stuck,, you may jiggle it back and forth with the front end jacked up and it "may" get right...

I jacked it up loosened oil lines forced the wheels full right then tightened the lines and started tractor then slowly steering back to normal u almost like it had an airlock.

You had a valve sticking, and it freed up when the pressure came off of it, I have seen some that had to be torn down and re-calibrated to get them working again, glad yours worked out.

Tim I forgot to tell you but that 4520 steering box that was dropped off for me last week did that last summer. We were chopping hay and it was hard to steer and would only turn one way by afternoon. the next day it was ok and never caused a problem since. Tom
