Anyone ever seen a broken FWA axle on a 7000 series??

I saw this one at the dealer the other day. It had snapped the front axle housing right by the steering joints. I can't say that I have ever seen a FWA with a broken housing... But then, some people can break anything.

Is it the axle housing for sure that let go? I have repaired a couple that the trunnions in the knuckle housings let go (Theres a grease fitting there?) and would let the knuckle come away like that. Yes there are those out there that can mess up an anvil with a tack hammer.

Hi
Yes as they say in this area there's guys that could mess up making a Salad.
A loader thats too big for the tractor, with a grapple bucket and 2 big round bales on going over rough or frozen ground to fast will do that. there are a few guys round here had $10.000 plus bills for front axle repairs on newer series 7000 JD tractors.
one feedlot a guy I do repairs for works at destroyed 2 in a month!!!!!.
Regards Robert

I have a similar tractor and manual states to never attach a chain to the front axle to pull it out if it gets stuck. Frame has slots in the side to fasten chain hook into.
