430s no fuel!!! gonna make me pull my out my hair

pulled my 430 in the garage to work on my hydro problem and fixed that and went to start it up and no go! got spark , got compression and plugs are always dry. have good flow of gas into carb and I rebuilt the carb in the summer and no problems since. I did get it to run for about a minute 2 separate times but now nothing? just for gp I removed carb, took it all apart , inspected (nothing noticeable) and put back together still nothing. thers always gas in the bowl. I guess the next thing im going to check is actual vacuum at manifold with carb removed. very irritated! any guidance is appreciated

From what I hear the tractor is definately not getting fuel to the spark plugs.
these tractors can easily be flooded if the choke is out and fuel goes into the manifold making the spark plugs wet.
I would have a closer look at the carb.
when you say rebuilt did you have the fuel nozzle out from the bottom, and clean all the holes in it?
also take some welding mig wire and make sure ALL the air and fuel passages are clean, then use WD-40 with a plastic nozzle extension and squirt it in the holes watching it come out the other sides., this is a real good way of making sure they are open. And make sure you set your float level. when you have your carb all back together flip it up side down and then upright in your hand and listen carefully to make sure the float is actually moving up and down. it could be binding inside and not moving.
hope these tips help and good luck, let us know how you make out.

Harley, It could be possible that your condenser went bad. I had this happen to me once on a B. When you test the spark its there but its not when you try to start it, sometimes it will start for a second and then quit under power. worth a shot their cheap. Bob

I cleaned every passage and stuck wire thru each hole in the main nozzle. with as much as ive tried to star it with full choke, 7/8 choke 3/4, 1/2, no choke, there should be gas on the plugs. I def think it is a fuel prob but carb seems completely fine. ive tried several positions of the load jet.

Ditto.

My MT did this to me and it was the condensor. They are cheap and do not seem to last long if you buy new ones made overseas. I have a NOS one I found and it has given me a year. I also keep 2 on hand at all times.

Check your spark before you go messing with much else otherwise you could create a bigger issue. To me it sounds your issue is not fuel, but you have no spark or weak spark.

Agree.

We have an MT that eats condensers.

Remove a spark plug and leave it connected to the spark plug wire.

Turn the starter over and look for a spark.

If no spark, then remove the distributor cap, rotor, and cover.

Use a test light to check for power to the point set.

Turn the starter over and look for a spark at the point set.

If no spark, then replace the condenser.

Good luck finding a good condenser.

Try removing air inlet hose and spray some starting fluid into it while cranking if it runs you have ruled out spark

Pour a little gas in the hose and put it back on. If that don't fire or wet the plugs when you try to crank it charge the battery so it'll spin over faster.

spark was the first thing i checked, been down this rd before, but i always had spark and the plugs only had about two hours on them. the plugs NEVER had any gas on them and they should have after a minute or two of cranking with choke. i took the carb apart again and no problems found, also checked for good suction when it was off at the manifold and it was good. i then replaced condenser just to rule it out, all these no change. i did have a change in the fact that i now had gas on the plugs, i decided to try another set of plugs and low and behold it started right up. i really don't know what was going on with the carb but I'm sure something was. the whole thing doesn't make sense, the plugs were practically brand new. well see how long these plugs last. at this point , the only thing that hasn't been changed is the coil. could it be weak or is it a good/no good deal? i hope this reply will help someone in the future. never rule out something because it is new!
