What size engine is this machine? Will it fit in
a John Deere 1020 tractor?

No, that engine on a 700 is the same as a 2010 john deere. 155ci gas 165ci diesel. 4 cylinder. still a very sought after motor if in running condition.
It should have a sleeve deck plate about a 1/4 inch or more thick between the head and the block.
the motor you are looking for can possibly be found in air compressors. good luck.
