LA head torque

I'm getting ready to reinstall the head on my '41 LA and my operators manual and service manual doesn't list a tightening sequence and torque value for the head bolts. It has every other number you can think of, just nothing for the head bolts. Do you know what tightening sequence and torque setting they should be?

Also, the head bolts on horizontal two-cylinder engines have lead crush washers and I saw none on my head bolts when I removed them. Are lead washers supposed to be there or maybe some other kind of washer? Right now, my head bolts have no washers of any kind.

IIRC those bolts go into the water jacket so some sealer may be in order. I just used a common bolt torque by size chart when I did mine. Start in the center and work out in stages. Not much published info on those.
