1949 A rollamatic hub

I am trying to rebuild my rollamatic. I have looked through many comments on here, but have not yet found my answer. When I took the hub off, I have the felt on the backside, but now there seems to be a rather flat metal ring preventing me from taking the bearing out. Seems to be pressed in there quite well. I don't see it on the parts list. Any ideas? Don't want to wreck anything too badly.

Reviewed the [i:654c4848f0][b:654c4848f0]John Deere Parts Catalog PC675[/b:654c4848f0][/i:654c4848f0] under the ROLL-O-MATIC FRONT END ASSEMBLY on page 102.

Take a look at the diagram below.

Note the Felt Retainer (Key 15) D 635 R.

Take a look at the photo below of the Felt Retainer.

The bearing is installed in the bearing cup (Key 20) and then the retainer is "pressed" into the hub on top of the bearing.

You will need to remove the old retainer to remove the bearing.
