MPI help for 720 weights

I have a friend who has front weights on a 720 and the casting number on the bottom of the weights is A4828R. Someone offered him $500 for them but told him they were not correct for a 720. He said he looked at another 720 he owns and it also has the same weights. It really is strange if both are wrong, I don't know if both tractors came from same place or not. Thanks

Not much help on 2 CYL but if the are factory JD they sell really well and seen some near perfect LPs at Mecum that all had complete sets that had one piece that mounted on top.Looked like 5 pieces total.

Well then that makes the John Deere 60 I bought
7 years ago a real deal.. Had frt weights, 801
3 pth & one brand New 13.6x38 for 650.00..
Started it up & drove it on the trk....

Your friends wanna be buyer is full of it.

Weights did not come on new tractors. Dealers added them. They used their inventory just like the factory. New models got what was left of the old inventory until it was gone.

Your friends weights are correct for an early to mid range 720.

Thanks M-MAN, makes sense to me! From looking at the parts books I did see that the newer numbers the potential buyer gave was a sub for the other one. The newer weights had 3 holes instead of 2. I wondered if the 2 hole might have been a weak link?
