John deere 4010 power issue

I have a 4010 john deere tri front end. I was plowing and the engine began to bog down. I could open the throttle all the way and it would barely idle half way. It will idle all day without shutting off and you can drive it as long as you don't drop the plow. It basically has no power. To me it should be some kind of fuel issue. I did notice that it blows white smoke. Any ideas?

Is it a gas or diesel? Where you plowing snow in cold conditions where the fuel may have jelled or have water in tank? Take fuel line off transfer pump and blow back into tank to make sure fuel line is not plugged by dirt or something. If it is a diesel it could be the govener ring in injection pump going bad and blocking fuel flow.

. It's diesel and no I live in georgia so it was about 50 degrees outside. I changed the fuel filters and noticed that the bleeding lever on transfer pump will not work.

Remove the timing window on the pump and see if it revs up, it will leak a little fuel but not too bad, if it picks up RPM's the return t is clogged..

Take the fuel line off the transfer pump and crank the engine over to see if it is pumping fuel. It sounds like you have air in your fuel filter and injecter lines. You may have to bleed your injecter lines. I hate the fuel filter setup on a 10 series tractor and if it were mine I would either change to late style glass filter or get a base off a 4020 and then you could use the spin on type filters. . Ok I got the return line off and found that it was clog at the second injector. How do I check to see if it was the o ring in pump?

Remove the timing window on inj pump. If drive ring is failing there should be some "coffee grounds'' looking substance present.
