466 Deck height

Well I know it's a 4.75 stroke I'm looking to use off the shelf parts that are easily sourced to use in the build of a engine of another color. Maybe overall sleeve length would have been a better way to phrase my Question.
Thanks

Deck height is the distance from the center line of the main bearing bore to the top of the cylinder block otherwise known as the deck.

Former Agent,

I have a 466 down to a bare block right now, if I get down to the shop tonight I can get some measurements for you. Any other measurements while I'm at it? Rod length, piston compression height, etc... May I ask what the color of the other engine is?

It's a blue 4 cylinder. Building a light hot farm puller. The stock
bore on the ford 268 block that I have is 4.4 and can only find
.40 overbore kits. If possible using the deere 4.56 bore and a 5
inch stroke Genisis crank I can get it to nearly 330 ci using
OEM parts. I know I'm likely going to have to do some
machine work. But I think using OEM parts and machining
them to work is much more sensible than going full custom.
And yes if you do not mind rid length and compression height
would be very handy.
Thanks

You're not the first one to do this, friend of mine has the engine we took out of his 7000, 4.5625 bore with a 4.710 stroke, 307 cubic inches on a 256 block, kind of an odd stroke, took it out to put a 268 BSD engine in with low hours, made a huge difference in power, other engine is not built properly, they cut the pistons too low, not enough squish.

You'll have to find pistons out of a NA 466, 4240 or simlar application, the piston pin diameter is the same as the ford's. You may or may not be able to get away with boring it that far without hitting water, his engine has one hole that is sleeved. Any reason that you can't use the 304 genisis block other than you might not have one and they might be pricey.

What are you allowed as far as rules go? RPM, cubic inches, turbo, weight class, etc... His tractor pulls 6th gear in 7500, could use a half a gear faster most of the time.

Other than the cost of a 304 block and we have a 268 in the
shop. This is going in a tube framed 5000. Running 3000 rpm.
Plan on picking up a 304 crank. Limited to a box stock 3LM-
466 charger. Weights will range from 5500-6500lbs. 18.4-38
tires will be adding outboard breaks to further lighten the
chassis. Oh and 360 cubes max

Sounds like a fun class, not a fan of the turbo pick, tons of stuff out there thats better/more modern. I'll get some measurements when I get home. I also wanted to talk to you about building the engine, drop me an email [email protected]

Measured from a 6466D, deck height, 13 15/16
Compression height is around 2.782 and rod length is 10.750.

268 ford Pistons are 2.66 compression height.
