Looking at 4020's on the Auction time website I came across this one. Is that a "sprocket" on the RH axle? If so, what is it's purpose?
Scroll to the right, picture #9. Click on pic of scv's.

On two cylinders, there were sprockets used like that on occaision to drive a side-dress attatchment on a cultivator, or even cultivator mounted planter units.

I'm guessing that's what it is for.

Looks like maybe #50 roller chain.
Those attachments usually were driven by flat link chain.
No idea what that one was for.

I suppose it could also be some sort of speed metering device. They might have taken the sensor off and left the sprocket. Could have been a planter or sprayer tractor.

These are the sprockets I'm use to seeing on axles , used to drive rear [or front mount on cult.] dry fertilizer side dressers . Use flat link (detachable) chain.. roll chain sprocket is unusual ....

Looks like a John Blue side dresser or planter. Thanks guys, had never seen anything like that before.

Nice looking tractor . Wonder why they put 4WD in the spec section on that tractor? Obviously not a four wheel drive.
