I own a 2955 with a 148 loader which I installed last year. It was a quick install and we left the loader running off the SCV's on the machine because we had other things to do.
Now looking at getting the loader set up right with its own valve. Tractor is open-station with 2-post ROPS, twin stick transmission with hi/low. No reverser. 2WD.
I'm planning to go with a Surplus Center joystick valve, switched to closed center.
This machine already has a ported filter cover with a plug currently in it, so I know to send return oil to that cover, no problem.
Questions:
1. Where should I be picking pressure up for the valve on this style of tractor? Seems it has a lot more going on hydraulically than some of the older 30 and 40 series tractors had. Have seen some vague references to tying into the SCV somewhere for power beyond, but have not seen pictures or anything approaching a good description.
2. Also, this tractor has a second, spin-on style hydraulic filter, part number AL56469, which I haven't seen on others of these tractors before...what's the point of this second filter?
3. Finally, when I do get this sorted out is there any reason I can't use flat-face or Pioneer quick-connectors at the ported filter cover and wherever I tie in for pressure, so that the entire loader hydraulic system can stay with the loader when disconnected? (Planning to mount the joystick to the right loader mast, just like the old 2-lever mounts used to be.)
