I have a 1951 A. It is in rough shape but I am trying to restore it as time allows. The frame is separated at the bottom do to the 2 bottom studs being broke. Can these studs be bought through JD or will I have to source them else where? Going to try and weld a nut on them. And if that fails I will torch them out. Any help would be great.

The studs are either 3/4 x 3-1/2 or 3/4 x 2-1/2 depending on your serial#. They're common and can be found at places like McMaster-Carr, MSC Industrial or a local supply house. Deere has them for about $22 each (ouch).

WOW I bet those two studs are about the only thing thats still good on a 51 A I haul Home.....

Getting them out and making the holes/threads usable will be harder than finding the studs. Fastenal has a HUGE source of studs/bolts. HTH
