I have a friend that owns a late model D. He says the oil pressure is lower then desired. And He is wondering about a situation with the oil filter installation that causes a poor fit. Some inner part might get pushed up too far ? Anyone have knowledge about this issue.
Thanks, C Kain

Mine was like that and turned out to be the gauge. Try a different gauge and see if that's your problem before you tear into it.

Thanks, will check it out.
The book says something about an inner part can be pushed up too far when tightening the filter holding cap. Know anything about that ?

Don't know a lot about the filter. If you tighten too much it pulls the stud down and bends the cup and will leak causing s loss of oil preasure. That's what I know for what I don't know. I wondering if you could put a bottle jack under the stud and slightly push it back into place. Find a repair manual and it will show how to replace them. I seen it in mine and it shows you get a block of wood and drive the cup out to the inside of the main case. Don't know where you could get s new one or just repair the old one, hope I could help any,
