John Deere 6300 starting problem

I have a john deere 6300. The tractor stopped running in the field. John deere replaced a spark plug looking device that screwed into the injector pump and it started right up. Next time i started after two weeks, the tractor would start and only idle until it warmed up 10 or 15 mins, then it ran normal. After another week, the tractor was hard to get started. Replaced the fuel filter, but this didn't help. The fuel pump is pumping normal and has about 2 psi. Checked all fuel lines and they are dry with no leaks. The fuel pumps continues to run and i was thinking it used to shut off after turning the key on and it built pressure, but now it runs all the time with key on and tractor not running. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check to be sure fuel return line is open and fuel is returning to tank. Simple test is loosen timing plate screws and gasket then crank engine to see if it will run longer than it has previously.

thanks, i do not know what timing plate or where it is located.
The tractor will not start or run at all at this time. I will try your suggestion if you can give me a few more details on your suggestion.
I took the lines off at the fuel pump (one at a time) and the supply line puts out 2psi and when I put the supply line back on the pump and removed the return line, fuel came back on the return line in a normal manner. All of these test with key on and tractor not running. Thanks again

That's not an issue on a 6300 Jim..I had a 6320 hauled in here last week that would not start, I replace one line that was wet and the fuel filters burped it real good and it starts fine now..But it sounds like yours may have a different problem going on...

Thank you Tim.
I have had an issue with a wet fuel line before and the tractor would not start. Once i replaced the leaking fuel line the tractor would start just fine. It does not appear to be a line this time or I will say all lines are dry and does not appear to be a leak.

One person suggested that the fuel pump may be partial clogged at the strainer. I will remove and inspect the strainer.

It seems that there is a thermal timing module on the water jacket, that changes the timing with the temp. I am not sure that your tractor has one,,,but I'm thinking it does, when they go bad it can cause the pump fuse to blow,,you may look in that direction... It's not likely the fuel strainer is clogged, but still a thought..

Tim. If the fuse is blown, then the tank pump would not run, but the tank pump runs and builds pressure. I was told by someone else about a temp sensor may be the problem. I do not know where it is located, but i will try and look into that suggestion thanks

Most are up near the therostate housing there will be 2 modules that look near alike one is the temp sensor the other will go to the pump, you can unplug it and it will still start and run, the injector pump shut off is on a different fuse...

My 6310 had starting issues. what really helped was putting a
check valve in the fuel line near the tank. stopped the fuel from
leaking back to the tank. Also replaced all fuel lines. but I think
the check valve was the trick. Got it from my Deere dealer.

Thanks for correcting me.

Thanks for all the replies reguarding my John Deere 6300 starting problem.
Replaced the fuel tank fuel pump. The old pump was weak and the strainer was clogged and detoriated. With new pump, i have good pressure. I also replaced the fuel line from the pump to the filter.
Bled air from line and filter and tractor started right up.
May need to clean the tank in the future.
New pump 253.00 and line 12.00.
Thanks for everyones help to point me in the right direction.
