Looking at an estate tractor that is a 4450 powershift digital tach works but hours don't reads 2500 PTO doesn't stop with pressure applied haven't had it pressure checked.Hours are not high but still unknown,I know it is a double split .How much would that cost and how big of job to check tach out?Nobody knows about tractor but just want to sell as is.Thanks

It's a big job to get the PTO brake repaired, the dash I would send to AG Express and have them check it out,,here are some pics of a 4960 PTO brake repair, near the same work..

I was thinking powershift pto brake was located here but granted a lot of water has run under the bridge since I was employed by a JD dealer and only a split between clutch housing & engine was required with hyd pressure testing before split.

It is Jim but it's on the back side of the drive gear, you can touch it but that's all with out splitting the clutch housing off #34 & 35 are the disc.

Unless I am missing something, I have never done a double split to repair the PTO brake. I just split at engine/clutch housing, remove the PTO shaft from the rear, remove the PTO clutch, remove the input planetary, and then reach in and behind there and remove the PTO brake assembly. There is a special alignment tool to reinstall the brake but I don't have the number handy right now. I hope this helps and does not cause any confusion, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

2wd can be done with single split but mfwd requires double split as the idler gear blocks the brake from being removed as shown in Tim's pic.

As you know Larry it's hard to make much on a tractor deal if there is much repair needed.
