Hi I borrowed my father-in-laws 990 this weekend to do some dirt work with the loader after using it for about an hour the loader quit working , the rear lift will raise up just fine , stumped and troubled.

Look for a lever under the front of the seat, bet you unknowingly moved the lever that controls the loader. My JD compact tractor has a lever there that can get moved and the loader stops working.

Dan mentioned a good thing to check.
Another: does the "feel" of the loader control lever seem normal? I'm wondering if something in the linkage between the lever and the control valve came unhooked. Somehow did one of the raise lower hoses come disconnected? What do you mean, quit working? Both raise/lower and dump/curl quit?

I believe I'd call the Father-in-law before I proceeded with any repairs. He should be familiar and it may be something simple.

Farther in law don't know how to check oil. That being said no leaks and control lever feels normal but it doesn't dump or curl or up or down , gravity will let it fall to the ground but no pressure any correction.

This one don't have lever under seat . It has a lock at the side of the joy stick but not locked. The loader will raise if I let the mower down and pull the joystick while trying to raise mower .
