B leveling tires

I don't care for the nose up look. What size tires should I use to get the tractor level? I need 4" in the rear with 5.50-16 in the front and 11.2/10-38 in the rear as it sits now.

Thanks!

Dad and I have a B with 11.2-38's and I agree that they look just a tad small and the nose is a bit high, even with the 9.00-10 single front. But, on the other hand, I think things would look out of proportion with anything larger than a 12.4-38. Are you thinking you need 4" of actual lift in the back or 4" of diameter increase? The 12.4 is about 2" taller than the 11.2 so would give you about an inch of lift. To get 4" of lift would require something like a 14.9-38 which in my opinion would look much worse on that tractor than the nose-up stance. Obviously this is subjective, though!

This is mine with 12.4,s and I'd say it's not even noticeable. Has your got fenders as lack of fenders would make it look lower in back? Have also seen where someone has rotated the ROM around backwards and that will make then not only steer bad but rise in the front.

Yep, my '52 "B" sets level and looks Nice with 13.6x38" Firestones (on 11" rims from an "A").
Some mistake it for an "A" at times and the tire size is appropriate for what I need it for..Really Pushing with a Loader or pulling trees..!

Ron..

If you have the choice, 12" wide rims would be even better for the 13.6x38 tires, but 11" are just fine too..
Had 12.4x38 on that "B" for 50+ years and always did feel they were just plain too narrow..always leaving ruts and tire marks if the ground is damp..
Mine will really Lock-Down on the tread and Pull hard now...with the 13.6's..

Ron.

15.5's look great on a B but they are the same height as 12.4's. You should go with 14.9's but - you will have to shift down 1 gear for working. 12.4's were factory option on B's . Another option would be to get rid of the rollomatic.

I would not go wider than 13.6, and think that 15.5 are same height as 13.6. I have 14.9 on MH44 and feel about right, might put those on an A.

I always wondered if a pedestal from an earlier 1940's B would fit and give a more level look to the tractor . I Never liked the nose up look on the A's & B's .

Is the a parade queen or a working tractor? Wouldn't bigger rubber affect the tractor's ability to do work? Could you go with smaller front tires? Here's my early styled B with 11.2 rears and 5.00-15 fronts

Yhe earlier styled seem to be a little more level. Anyone ever tried putting a 15" rim off something like an M/420 and some 12.4s or 13.6s.

You probably have the roll-a-matic, just trade for a non roll-a-matic front and you will be lower as the tires do not require the frame clearance the roll-a-matic does. and that was standard factory option, Just harder to steer in fresh plowed ground.
