3020 Carb help

Working on a 3020 cast carb. My problem is the fuel solenoid is no good and a new one is around $250 (unreal price), is there a place to get one at a reasonable cost? Has anyone removed it and found an adjustable needle valve to replace the solenoid?

Seems Deere had load needle. At least they did for utility tractors.
W/O shutoff the tractors would backfire when you shut them off. Shut your eyes to keep rust from blowing into them and hold your ears.

Yes JD use to have load needles to replace the solenoids but are no longer available.

Roberts Carb might have source.

Just remove the solenoid and if you can pull the needle and spring out just reverse the spring from rear end to front end . The spring will then hold the valve open .Been awhile but I did that to all of them .
