I have a '72 2520D with long axles. I assume that was a factory option for adding duals. I have yet to come across another 2520 with that length axle. Does that make the tractor more rare or desirable or no?
(quoted from post at 12:16:02 01/09/15) I think you would find a few of these setups in areas that grow lots of produce like the southwest and Calfornia. I think there has been a few at the two-cylinder expo in the past. Do you have the F1500R rear center castings or the dished style rear wheel hubs? Not sure if it is worth more but it is different. (quoted from post at 23:04:11 01/09/15) In case anyone is wondering about the step I made. So much better than the factory ones
Thanks for posting! (I know it's off topic on your 2520). But that is a clean 4620 so wanted to see it, and I was just going to ask about the steps! I like it, it adds function yet retains the John Deere look.

(quoted from post at 18:41:25 01/09/15) Dad's 4020 has the extra long axles and he hates them. He hits fence posts and the shed door with them. I have the short standard axles and wouldn't mind having the long ones. He wants to cut his off and I cringe. Grandpa bought it new with them and I just hate the idea of having them hacked on. He has started using my tractor to shred to avoid it.

I would cringe too at the thought of torched axles. Maybe you could swap whole axle housings.
(quoted from post at 09:24:04 01/10/15) Great looking tractors in your collection there. Send me an email, I have a couple of items that may be of interest to you.
(quoted from post at 10:57:40 01/10/15) You should be able to click on "send email" in the lower RH part of my post.
(quoted from post at 12:56:41 01/11/15) Okay I did manage to find it in classic. Swear I looked yesterday and didn't see it. If Classic view was the only option, I swear I wouldn't come here--it drives me crazy.
