where does the spring(#58) go? I think I have #38 in the right place, but the throttle likes to stick in high speed, the lever(#31 goes overcenter and will not return to low idle without picking up on the foot control

maybe these pic will help some, I cant get the JD parts pic to show up, you'll hafta copy and open

Tighten nut(parts key 24) a couple of turns and report back.

I'd sure get a pressure washer up in there and flush it all out first. Maybe once cleaned up it may be easier to see if something is out of place or worn ? Then I'd apply some lube to the critical pivot points too.

thanks,I have tightened that some, maybe I need to give it a couple more turns. I'll let ya know what happens in a few days, I need to get the exhaust manifold back on now. I'm putting a single piece one in place of the two piece(broken)one
