I thought I would just heat up the discussion board, since we are cold and RAINY here in MN. (I know, we should be getting SNOW). Here are a few little pictures from over the summer to heat you all up.

in 1941 there was no such thing aS AN UNSTYLE a JOHN DEERE , THEY WERE PUT IN THE STYLED CONDITION IN 1939. what number is on your serial tag someone might have changed it and there again you may have the only one made.

Rick this is a Tractor Ken Built.. He wanted a
unstyled 6 speed A, He now has one.....

Not too sure about that. I read in one of my history books that they built A & B models unstyled for 2 or 3 years along with the styled models. For buyers like my Dad who said "All that fancy tin doesn't pull the plow any better".
Just like many don't know that they built 2 cyl model 730 until around 1970 for export to South America.

Those were not built here & exported. They sent the dies patterns etc down there & built them in a factory there. Late '60 was the last ones built in US.

Just for clarification, I didn't want to start a debate. I just wanted to throw a little 'green in the brown' during this time of year. We should have 1-2 feet of snow on the ground, but we are dealing with rain, rain, and more rain... And for MN.. It's just not Christmas without snow.

As far as the A goes. It is a 1941, but due to the price I paid, and my desire to have an unstyled tractor with a large amount of transmission versatility, I decided to build my own A (with the help of many forum members, of course). This tractor is a creation of my imagination. I am a purist, for the most part.. But sometimes, you just gotta build your own. After all.. That is how America was built, right?

Ken, you sure got that right! Was the last picture taken at Almelund? I haven't been up there in a few years now. I'm by Le Sueur, so I do go to Pioneer Power every year. I really like the Unstyled A's as well, although I don't have the 6-speed version!

The last picture was taken at the Nowthen Threshing Show last year. Almelund was a great show - I don't have a pickup so I couldn't get my tractors to that one. I am only 8 miles from Nowthen, so I drive them to and from the show every year. Never have been to the Pioneer Power Days, but would love to go. I once made it to the swap meet, but it was cold, raining, and on a Sunday so there wasn't much left there except stuck vehicles in the field.

This year I really want to make it to the Dalton Threshing show - rumor has it that my uncle GAVE AWAY my grandpa's Farmall M to a friend of his, who restored it, and takes it to the show every year. My uncle didn't know I was still into tractors (he has been pretty distant from the rest of the family), and never thought of calling me prior to his giving it away. I'd like to just let the gentleman know that if he ever wants to sell it, that I would appreciate it if he contacted me first.

Dalton is a good show, you will enjoy it, this year was my first time going there and I'll be going back from now on! Too bad you didn't make it this year, John Deere was their feature.
