World's one of a kind Birthday Party

Today at 5:59PM was my 78th Birthday, My wife had a surprise party, about 35 in laws and out laws showed up.
At exactly 5:59 Pm, my Grandson fired up My John Deere D # 131407. The old D and I were born on the exact day, Sorta nice to hear the old D and me still able to perculate after 78 years.
Next we blew a steam whistle that My Uncle and my Dad , used in about 1920 on a Stiff Leg Derrick to unload sand and gravel from barges on the Ohio River at Evansville, Indiana.
Lastly, We shot my one -of-a kind 45-70 Century Revolver with 6 1/2 inch barrel.
All in all it was a very intersting Birthday Bash. Cheers

Sounds like a great birthday to me. Never heard of a 45-70 in a handgun. That would be a handful! Hope you get to enjoy many more.

My brother has a Thompson CenterFire single shot pistol with multiple barrels, one of which is a 45-70. The first owner of the barrel shot it only once and quickly sold it to my brother as it almost took off his face. This cartridge with a hot load is not for the faint of heart. If you shot at "something/someone" at night, the flame and report should be enough to end the issue whether the aim was on target. Cost of ammo is also not conducive to "plinking". Definitely a Dirty Harry type of weapon.

Thanks for the replies. Forgot one thing, I started the old Chrysler with a highly modified 440 engine, the engines puts out about 550 HP and it impresses the Grandsons with it's instant throttle response.
Hope to see you all at the Elnora Spring Swap Meet. charles.
