As you can see these aren't the original rear castings on the 830 and want to replace them with originals. Any hints for taking the ones off the donor tractor? I heard they can be a real pain in the rear. [/img]

Remmoved a pair of them a few years ago. One
came right off, the other was a real bear. Had
a definite advantage with all the sheet metal
removed (fenders, etc.). Used hydraulic jacks
and chains to remove them. There is room on
the inside to place about an 8-ton jack
between the main transmission casting and the
wheel. Used a 20-ton with a chain on the end
of the axle. Soaked for several weeks with PB
Blaster before we got it to move. But...these
were original 34" wheels.

Had no problems at all removing the wheels on my 80 as they
probably had been off before. You can bet yours have been
off before too since they are not original .
