jd 40 electrical system

tractor running and then it cut off. no current at switch. checked fuse, fuse okay. no current at points, no current to lights. checked switch in on position for continuity and there is continuity. usually if this happens it is the fuse. what else would stop current from getting through?
 
Take a look at the photo below of the instrument panel wiring for "Audie" our Model 40S.

Note the ignition switch gets "power" from the ammeter.

The ammeter gets "power" from the starter switch.

Take a look at the photo below of the starter switch.

Make sure the battery has a good "ground".

Check for "power" from the battery to the starter switch.
