Help Requested - B Crankshaft Problem

This "B" has the new style belt pulley. The roller bearing in the belt pulley runs on the crankshaft itself - no inner race.
The area where the bearing rollers ride is very badly worn down.
Besides finding a replacement crankshaft, any suggestions on fixing this or building the shaft up?????

Regards,

You may be able to find a machine shop that can spray weld up the area and re-grind it. It will need to be a fairly hard surface to match the rest of the crank.

I've read about "Speedy Sleeves". I don't know if that would work in your situation. Others will hopefully chime in and we'll all learn something :)

I have a shaft in a dozer final drive that needs improvement, and I'm also looking for answers.

The crankshaft should be taken to a crankshaft grinding shop, ground below the damage and re welded back to size and re ground so it will be hard enough to carry the bearing.

I thought all those B's had a race that the bearing ran on. If you can find the seam where the race is, you can heat it and drive it off. Hope this helps. Ron Mn
