john deere a key switch

Agree with [b:654c4848f0]Pete in MD[/b:654c4848f0]; a universal switch will work.

Take a look at the key switch on "52" our 1952 Model A.

Hope this helps.

If its a battery powered coil/distributor Ignition, a universal On/Off key switch can be used to provide the coil with voltage if switched ON.......If its a Magneto and you want to install a key switch to ground out and kill the mag it could be used provided its rigged to give a ground to the Mag for OFF or open for ON........If it has a cutout relay instead of a voltage regulator and a manual Low/High Charge control type of a light switch, you need the correct switch for that.

My '52 A has a key switch also, the guy I bought it from took it to tractor shows a lot and liked the idea of being able to remove the key and take with him. He said he felt better knowing the battery wouldn't be dead from someone messing with it or worse someone getting hurt deciding to go for a joy ride.

Can anybody help, i am looking for a key switch made by the CLUM CO, i have keys if some one has a salvage switch If you have an extra then you know what i mean, not every one will know. The key if still attached will say CLUM on it and a NO 89 stamped on it. Weather the switch BARREL does or not , not sure. They are listed it the late a-b-g parts book on the electrical and ignition page.Would really like to find one.
