4030 hydraulic problems

Hey guys. Got a problem. Tractor has been doing fine then went and started to go feed and the transmission filter blew out and broke the bolt holding it on. Got new bolt and filter and put on and same thing again. Didn't break bolt but blew oil out. Figure I have something stopped up or something. Is this two much hydraulic pressure ? Or something stopped up. Thanks

Jim I'm in tx also and it was 60 outside. Was just told that it could be stroke control valve stuck open or to much pressure but he wasn't sure. Never heard of this but need fixed.

The stroke control valve is not part of the circuit that the oil filter is on so I can't see that being the issue.I can't see the low pressure circuit for Waterloo built tractors in my head right now (Mannheim built schematic is stuck with me LOL).The low pressure side has to have a regulating valve to limit the pressure.
Tim S will probably be along to straighten us out soon, before I can get to my manual.

Ok thanks for the help. Just don't know what could be problem. I just changed all oil and new filters two months ago. Including cleaning screen. Everything was working fine Friday while gopher plowing. Not sure what would cause this all of a sudden.

Those bolts fatigue and break once in a while.

You say it didn't break the new bolt, but rather just pukes oil out.

I'm gonna GUESS you have the wrong seal ring or mangled it during installation.

Otherwise, you have something UNUSUAL going on... the flow leaving that filter goes forward to the oil cooler, and there are rubber hoses up there, held on with hose clamps, that would let go before mega pressure could build up in the filter housing UNLESS some sort of debris is restricting the charge oil from flowing forward.

I would suggest to check trans pump pressure. It's possible the pressure regulating valve is malfunctioning.

Ok guys. This morning went out and checked it out. The I ring going on the filter blew out on bottom. Fixed it then put oil back in and started. Didn't leak but the line coming from clutch control valve to the oil filter pressure regulated was dripping oil around where rubber hose was. After looking at parts breakdown. I kinda tapped all over the filter regulater and killed it again. U can hear there is quite a bit of pressure. But after starting again everything worked fine. Could it be in the oil filter regulater. Thanks guys

"U can hear there is quite a bit of pressure."

Or maybe you are hearing air purging from the new filter and the housing and associated plumbing?

I think your right on air purging. After that went and worked tractor for a couple hours and had zero problems. What I e been told here and from problems I'm having I think I got some metal in the system. Between front pump stroke control valve sticking to steering pump going bad to this problem and now my svc is blowing by and letting loader go down continually. May have to drain all oil again and put new in.

I wish you had told us about your being aware of loose bits of metal in the hydraulic system. What condition are the brake pads in?

Sorry bout that just never came to mind. Will say when I drained oil it was just a few gold flakes on screen. Not enough I would be concerned. Brakes seem good grip good. Now since the steering pump went out I haven't checked screen. So not sure but I imagine that oil relief valve got stuck and when I tapped it and put new oil in it went to working fine
