2020 Diesel Injection Pump, Still Need Parts

Hi. I called all of the suggested phone numbers and can't find the part I need. The pump is a CBC 431-3AL. The cam part number is 18784. My understanding is that it has to be that exact part number or the fuel rate and timing will be off. The part has not been made for 20 to 30 years. My other option is to buy a replacement pump and then a new line kit from JD. This will set me back about #1,300. OUCH.

just my 0.02 but I would box it up and send it to taylor diesel in Nashville,tn.615-242-9550 that is what I do,or if you aint had one broke off in you lately call Dixie diesel Columbia,tn.

CB pump has been obsolete since the late 1980s. There are NO new major parts available for it. It's not just the cam-ring. I'll add that nobody in the USA rebuilds them with new parts. You might find someone with some used parts to stick in there. Total waste of time and money as I see it.
Maybe my memory is off but I thought you first posted about a DB pump needing a cam?

I threw out buckets full of CD and CB pumps and parts years back as did many other places working on pumps. The trick now is to find someone who has enough old parts saved to fix your's.

Anytime I get my hands on a Deere with a CD or CB pump - even if working well - I start scanning Ebay and junkyards for a DB or JDB pump, drive, and lines to replace it all with.

Hi. Thanks for the help. I think I will have to upgrade to the newer pump. I am sure there is probably something out there but I just don't have the time to find one. The shop had recommended a JDB 431AL as a replacement and he can get that one. My son has a lot of used pumps and I hope I can maybe trade some in to pay for the new one. I have a JDB435MD but I guess that doesn't help.

I don't know which MD pump you have. There are a few that would work on your 2020. E.g a JDB435-MD2802

Others include DBGFC431-2DH, DBGFC431-25AJ, JDB431-AL2408, JDB431-AL2731.

Problem is - you need more then a pump. Need an adapter bracket, drive-shaft, and lines.
Some Deere tractors got converted right at the factory and sold new with the conversion - like my 300B.

Thanks for all of the help. We have a JDB435MD 2802. I will have to see what the shaft and adapter plate cost. Might just need to get a new pump.

JDB435MD-2802 has more fuel delivery and is for a turbo-charged engine. It can be turned down and made to work on your 2020.

To mount - you need the pump driveshaft, injector lines, and some sort of bracket to mount on the engine. That is unless you drill the timing cover and put in new studs on different centers. Deere sold a horseshoe-shaped bracket to mount a DB pump on an engine originally setup for a CB pump. My 300B came new from Deere with that adaptor bracket but it does not show up in the parts book

There is a driveshaft for sale right now on Ebay for $100. If I was you, I'd buy it. Not always easy to find. Not for $100. The one on Ebay in the photo is the shaft and timing gear.
Old Deere # for the shaft was R36538. Now they sell a kit # SE501336.
