Model B pushrod sleeves

Hi all, I've recently completely overhauled a 49 B engine. I noticed water going down in the radiator and when I checked the oil I had water in it. I immediately thought of the pushrod sleeves. I pulled the valve cover off and found the two inner pushrods covered in recent heavy rust. I removed the head and the head gasket appeared fine. I then attempted to remove the sleeves using methods found in the archives with no success. I took the head to a machine shop and they told me they pressure checked the head and nothing was leaking and also they didn't think it had any sleeves. The head is a B2501R and I thought all B heads after s/n 96000 had two sleeves. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays, Fred

According to Parts Manual PC330, after 96000, the head used two pushrod tubes, Part Number AB2739R, shown as part number 12 on page 12. Earlier models used four tubes, Part Number AB1284R. Hope you find the leak and it's not too serious.

I don't have my books here to check casting numbers. But there are IIRC at least 3 cyl. head casting numbers and they all interchange on tractors from 96000 and up.
The very last ones had no push rod tubes in them. I think these are also the ones that took a different oil lead washer on the center stud.
If it has push rod sleeves they should be pretty easy to see.
If someone ever drilled out a manifold stud/bolt they could of drilled thru a sleeve or the casting causing a leak.

My parts book shows push rod tubes all the way through production on the B. The number changes 3 times though.
