snow plow ???? and HYD cly RODS

Did JD ever offer a factory built SNOW PLOW for a JD-H or was there ever an after market sold by someone,------ 2nd the the HYD ram rods on #45 JD loaders , why are the rods polished for about 14",s and the rest is a dull finish?
 
On the # 45 I think yours had the rods exposed and rusted. Or the exposed part didn't but the inside part did from moisture. They should be chromed all the way. Easy to make replacements just buy the proper dia. chromed rod stock,cut to length and the ends are just held on with roll pins. Not bad to cross drill just nick the chrome with a grinder first where you need to drill.
 
Reason i ask, is i don't think i have seen a set that are CHROME all the way. I have probably seen 5-ta-8 loaders and all the same as my question. Thanks
 
PC228 is the snowplow parts book and it does not show a plow option for the H. However, I would think you could make something work with the MT72 plow and some tinkering.
 
I don't know ? I have seen many of them stored outside and the exposed part had rusted pretty good. Or at least that's what I thought had happened ?
 
Thanks for all the replays, as i said they appear discolored as mine and what i have so far seen feel no rust and do not show any WIPER seal damage. Thanks to all and have a nice HOLIDAY SEASON.
