Well I learned that on a 52 A the reduction oil and engine oil run together, found this out when I took the belt pulley off to grease the pulley bearing. Well the IT manual says the tractor holds 11 qts of oil, how much to put in the reduction housing since it is drained. Not my tractor helping a guy put it back together after another guy was helping and never came back. And no owners manual yet to check either. thanks chris

The owner's manual for "52" our 52 Model A recommends 1 pint.

Thanks. "52" is now being used as a mowing tractor with a BushHog 720 finishing mower.

Drove the tractor around the shop yesterday afternoon.

JH is correct, 1 pint of motor oil, just enough for the gear to dip into. I use my '51 for a little baling and change it every couple seasons. Always get a little clear water when I drain it. It's separate from the crankcase and doesn't "share" oil.
His looks a lot better than mine.

Maybe not share but can be thrown between the two with the drain back hole between the reduction housing and the crankcase.
