I am restoring a 48 model M. I replaced the ignition/light switch (AM357t), amp meter (Am354t), battery, and lights. The 6 volt lights will work if I disconnect the switch and use a wire to bypass the switch but they will not come on if I turn the switch to "lights" position. The tractor is not running yet as I have not installed the gas tank but I tested the starter from the switch and it turns the engine from all positions (even the off position). not sure what else to troubleshoot as I have triple checked the wiring diagram. Any thoughts on why the lights won't work. Could it be the cut out is not working as I have not replaced it. Or is the new switch bad?
