When I pull up on the lever to engage pto you can fell it kinda klick but it will just drop back down . Whats the problem. thanks rick

It could be needing adjusted,,or the clutch disc's could be cooked out of it. If you need parts check some where other than Deere...

The manual doesn't describe it the way that you are thinking Rick, your thinking "wimpy lever" which actually means the clutch needs adjusted, on the early 60's you go in through the oil fill plug and rotate the clutch till you see where a 'flap' of metal is bent to keep the adjusting nut from free wheeling, pry this flap out of the way and tighten the big nut using a large screw driver,,give it a few turns and check to see if your lever starts to get right, it should only take a few turns... On the newer 60's there is a smaller screw that holds the nut in place it needs to be screwed "down or in" to get it out of the way to turn the nut,, then after you have it the way you want it bend the flap back to lock the adjusting nut,,or turn the screw back up to lock the nut from free wheeling. If adjusting don't seem to work out you will need to pull the clutch and take a look at it. And be careful not to tighten it too much,, if your eyes bug out when you lift the lever to engage it ,,it's too tight...

thank you I was looking for a trouble shooting thing, like lp tractors have in there books thanks again rick
