JD 820 Black Dash

Are parts readily available for repairing the pup motor on a 820? Are parts expensive? Is this motor 6 or 12 volt? If someone wanted to convert an 820 to electric start are there conversion parts available to do this and how difficult a job would it be?
Thanks
Bill

Good day:
Try to get fellow YT members to send you PICTURES of their 80>830 JD's with STRAIGHT electric START.
Depending on your back ground you may find it exiting or down right difficult to convert to STRAIGHT ELECTRIC. I have converted a JD "R" to straight ELECTRIC. The particular TRACTOR was MANUAL STEERING. All fabrication was made from 5/16" steel plate. Starter was from a CATERPILLAR G333 6 cylinder engine, 24 VOLTS. Alternator was 24 VOLTS removed from a Cummins 250 engine that had been used as an emergency water pump back up in a Natural Gas processing Plant. Final out come was excellent....(1979) All water ports were taped to NPT, plumed together and routed to top of radiator. I also was given a STARTER and asked to fabricate a starter bracket to install a straight electric on a John Deere 70 Diesel, also with no Power steering. The end result was excellent. Customer done the rest of the work. There were no pictures or drafted drawings made back in the late 1970's. Converting a JD "R" or JD "70" was very straight forward. I would think the JD 80> 830 with power steering would be much more of a challenge.
All the Best
Bob..
