1010 hard to start.

Hi folks, I have a 62 John Deere 1010 that I have owned for 3 years that I use for chores and snow removal. This past spring I decided to change the valve cover gasket so while I was in there I changed valve stem seals and adjusted the valves. Ever since then it has been incredbly hard to start. Its even to the point of having to give it a shot of gas into the carb throught. Things that I have already done are. New coil and points condensor. New plugs, carb rebuilt. Checked compresson at 90 to 95 pounds between cylinders. Im at a loss

Are you sure you didn't screw up when adjusting
those rocker-arms? My 1960 1010 gasser got harder
and harder to start a few years after I rebuilt
the engine and did a valve job. Ran fine once
running but starting got miserable. Finally got to
a point it would not start no matter what I did.
Long story short - it was the rocker-arms had
gotten too tight as the valves receded into the
head. I loosened it all up and it starts like a ne
machine again.
