Re: Clutch issue on my 58 620

Yup, thats it. In pretty scaley shape just like mine. Wonder why your reply is not linked to my thread in this board. HUH, anyway, thanks and that is the part I have not seen available new.

Which part of your Pulley is broken out..?

Many times you can fit and weld in a piece from a JD "A" pulley..

Ron.

I changed a RAD CORE on a JD 620 and happen to have the Parts Catalogue . You have already been steered in the right direction....here's a break down.

Thanks guys, I may weld one piece in. It has been broken for years with one ear broken off where the one of the dog pivots. My other concern is the clutch face on the pulley itself. I have not pulled the inner disk out yet. To many " before winter " stuff going on. Thanks for the pic of exploded view. I actually have that book.

There is a 620 pulley listed today (Sunday) in the "photo ads" section here at YT. It is located in Mn.
Hope this helps.

Ok guys. I had a rainy day so I took the rest of the clutch apart. I had the pulley already off. Every face of all the disks, as well as the pulley face where the inside clutch rides is very rusted and pitted. My question is what would pitted surfaces do to the clutch? Can I wire brush or scotchbright the surface and get by with it, or is it a lost cause to run pitted stuff? I have seen some used clutch setups on fleabay. I don't want to spend a ton of time fixing the broken ear on the pulley if a pitted face is just gonna wreck the disk real quick. :(
