John Deere Corn Sheller

Can anybody tell me the difference between the #7 and #6 stationary sheller? To look at pictures they look very similar. Did not know if is a capacity difference?

Despite the numbering, 6 was the big dog.

They look similar, I still have the 7 I used for years, been around 6's a lot too. The 7 will run about 300 bushels per hour, a 6 will be closer to 800. With some upgrades a 6 can hit over 1000 per hour in good clean corn. both were good machines, and a lot of parts interchange.

The best my dad and grandpa ever did with there #6 was 1200 bushels an hour. I would like to try to do that again as we still have 2 #6's.
