G high torque starter ??

s there such a thing as a newer style maybe gear reduction starter to retrofit to my 51 12 volt G original is bad not wanting to put original type slow starter back on or try to cobb one together or is that my only option thanks

A high CCA group 31 battery and not the cheapest group 31 battery. 2/00 cables with the pos chassis return connected direct to a starter mounting bolt.
A properly rebuilt starter.
She will wail over just fine even with gasoline pistons.

Check below with the tractor pullers.
I put a gear reduction starter on my G but is at my brothers, and hard to get to. If I remember right the starter is for a diesel skid loader of some type. The bolt pattern is the same, and rotation is correct, all you need is to wire a starter button into it.

MT 28,40 milmeter gear,10 tooth I think [count yours] counter clockwise rotation. look on ebay and get the one with the soloind on top or to the back.

A starter from a JD 8400 will bolt right on. Will need a
starter switch for it .

If the battery is of limited capacity, connection having high resistance and the cables undersized. How is a more powerful starter going to improve starting?

He said his starter is bad. way tell him to replace cables and battery that geared starter will get her done
