Hello all,
i wonder if someone could tell me what a 72 inch bucket from a 48 loader might weigh, i have a chance to get a bucket and i would be making it fit my bobcat, but i was hoping to see what just the bucket might weigh first. i am doing some work for my brother and he has it laying there it was too heavy for his tractor so if i can use it, it would make a dandy snow bucket on my skidsteer.
thanks very much.

It depends a lot on your Bobcat.... how much will it lift?

I made a skid steer bucket from a JD industrial loader bucket. It worked. Be sure to study the angle at which to attatch the quick-tach plate though. This wll determine your ability to dump and roll back. The angle of attatchment will be different for a skid steer vs 48 loader. It is also very different between makes of skid steers.

around that 400# range, great! thats what i was kinda hoping. good deal, i have a 742B so i have plenty of capacity, just didn't know if the thing was way heavy or more average, but that is average for bobcat buckets, so that is good. ya it will take some modifications, but won't be too bad. i have built several attach plates for my loader for various other things so it will be good. i will copy the angles and dangles of my dirt bucket, so that will be fine. good deal. thanks! These forums are the best, you guys are always helpful!
