I can't get the 2" plug out of the block to install a block heater. Can I heat it? I dont want to crack the block. Any ideas. Thanks

Yea but heating it will expand the plug you want to heat the block. Dont get crazy and you'll be fine. Think I used about 8'of pipe on the last one I did. Kinda scary but good results. Im a big fan of a block heater for the lower radiator hose. They circulate the coolant and no worries about leaking or other problems about the engine block damage when removing your rusted in 2" nut.

The tank heater route does have some advantages... especially in the dead of winter when the in-block heater goes out, and you need to drain all the coolant to change it.

The tank heaters also seem to last just as long or longer.
