43 Corn Sheller Questions

I have just bought a #43 corn sheller. I'm an IH guy so I don't know a whole lot about JD stuff...I have a few questions:

Are decals available for it?

What years were they made? On mine the model decal reminds me of the font they used on the 40-50-60-70-80 decals, so I am guessing early 50s.

How is parts availability from Deere? Mine's in good shape but you never know down the road....

thanks,
Al

Al - you can access JDparts.com and download the part's manual for free for it. That will state the years produced usually. I know I have it saved on my home computer - if you need email me and I will gladly email it to you. Always like a 43 sheller but haven't found one or seen one in person yet. Thanks.

JD made the 4B cylinder sheller , from 1942 to 1953" ( It was flat belt only) ; It was replaced in "53" with 43 sheller, [PTO drive] it still shows up in 1964 lit., but I think that was about the last yr. made...... I've remade most of the ware parts on mine from general, stock parts & material. ..

Main thing I am missing is the shield on the front where the PTO shaft enters, and the shield that covers the cob stacker drive on the back. I figure I can fab something up if needed.

thanks everyone for the comments!
Al
