i used my 4400 for the last three days moveing fill. this mourning it wouldnt start. changed f
uel filter. bleed lines, pumped prime lever made sure fuel lines were clear. if i wiff it with starting fluid it will run . is starting fluid safe to use? somehow im not getting anyfuel. any ideas?

I have seen the shut off solenoid on the pump go bad, some I have seen get oil on the back side of the plunger (the part that goes in and out of the solenoid)and cause a kinda hydraulic lock...but it sounds like your trouble is in this area,, of course double check for power to that solenoid..

It's easy to find , there will be wire going to it on the injector pump, it should have power to it when the key is on...check for power first..

The solenoid is M810324 $194 #8 in the Pic..... and Ooh my a new pump from Deere is $3,648..that is insane...

Its been 2 years since I've worked at a dealer but I do believe that series has a thermistor in the fuel solenoid circuit. That fuel solenoid has a pull, hold, and ground. The thermistor allows current to flow to the pull side of the solenoid. Once the thermistor heats up the thermistor opens the hold side keeps the solenoid "on". The thermistor is about the size of a postage stamp and is under the dash.

OK thanks guys. I sure hope that this is gonna be eazy! Ill post back when I find some thing out. When you say under the dash do you mean under vthe little door panel? Tim thanks for the photo

Very familiar with the problem. That thermistor is behind the electrical box, however I replaced mine and still had the same problem. It waa a bad solenoid. I didn't buy the one from deere but bought one from internet ebay and it worked perfect for about 1/3 of the cost. you'll need to remove the dip stick, blame loader is in the way remove it. there is two screws holding it in, pretty brain dead install. You can hook up to see if plunger moves before installing...but mine worked fine....

P.S. I think it was something about oil build up and then when cold it wouldn't pull the plunder back. I know you can heat with hair dryer and it will snap back and start....don't use either in these little tractors....you'll buy real $$$$$$$trouble.

the thermistor is soldered to the rear of the fuse panel. You have to unscrew it to get there...I soldered some extension wires and put mine where I could replace .....the thermistor is like $5.00 but getting to it????????
