Tractor is an early model 50 JD. Clutch was really noisy and jumpy. Found the inner fiber disk was in three pieces. New disks are ordered. Everything else seems to be in good shape, except for the pin hole in the clutch operating sleeve. I checked the archives and found some suggestions like milling a larger hole in the center of the tab, then turning a larger diameter stepped pin to match. Another idea - drilling out the oblong hole, which would move the hole from the center of the tab, then turning an offset stepped pin to match the larger offset hole. A third idea was welding 7/16" ID washers to the tab and nothing more. I wonder about milling the hole larger, then sleeving/reaming it to the pin size. The pin doesn't show any signs of despair - seems like all the wear is in the clutch sleeve. I'm looking for ideas that I might be able to use in my little shop. My equipment is not fancy. Milling/turning would have to be farmed out. Thanks in advance for any comments.
