i took engine balancer off, there is no timing mark on balancer to match the one on crankshaft. how can i time it to crankshaft with out a timing mark.

Too late for you now but maybe someone else will remember to mark things like this with your own marks before removal. Or at the very least verify the factory marks are there and align up.
I was taught this tip years ago and it has served me well.
Hopefully someone on here has the info you need now.

When the weight on the crank is going one way, the balancer weight is going the other way. That will get it close. Then look carefully on both sides of the gear. It should be there.

Ooh yes Mike that is a tough lesson to learn,, I always Identify the marks first and hit them with a paint stick..

If you are doing this in chassis, turn the crank until cyl 1 & 4 are at top center, then lift the balancer in place and start two bolts. the balancer weights will be at the bottom, carefully turn the two bolts paying attention that the gears mesh while the balancer weights are at the very bottom. At this point you can install the other two bolts and torque all four.

There are 2 marks to time the balance gears to themselves, then another mark that times the balance gear to the crankshaft ,,the #1 piston should be bottom dead center when you install the box..
