I need to replace the Drive Motor on my
starter and have pulled the nose cone,
armature, etc. and find that there is something
called a Pinion Stop (P/N R11116R (that is swagged onto the
armature shaft so I can't remove the Drive
motor. I can get the Pinion Stop from Deere but
don't know how to remove the old one? Would a
puller (assuming I can get it on) pull the
swagged Pinion Stop off or does it need to be
ground off carefully? There must be a modern
repair that is easier than having to swage on
the Pinion Stop.
