My JD 310B has hydraulics for a couple minutes.
Then it loses them. The front pump has been
rebuilt the tractor split and cleaned all the
brake residue in transmission. replaced brakes,
replaced filters, new fluid, put back together and
same thing. Need help.
 

Has correct operation of hyd filter relief valve been checked? Also check using laser thermometer each hyd component for higher temperature than the rest.
 
All relief valves have been checked. No laser
thermometer has been used. here is an email
from my mechanic.......Does this sound right?
????????????? There is another possibility..
but I don't want to even think about it. The
"reverser" mechanism is hydraulically operated.
It is the "shuttle" from forward to reverse.
When I had the trans split open, I had out the
'back end' of the reverser assembly. It was the
front half of the trans pump.. confusing? I
know. Anyway, the reverser assembly has a
front half, which I could not see as you have
to split the tractor in another place.. at the
back of the engine to get to it. I wasn't
working in that area. If the front half of the
reverser has a problem, it could be dumping the
fluid pressure there. See why I didn't want to
thing about it? The tractor would have to be
split again, only in a different place than
before.
 
I'd check all the roll pins on the clutch valve operating shaft that runs across the front of the lower reverser housing from the pedal assy. ..I'd also recheck that trans filter relief valve again.. With a gauge in the reverser control valve pressure tap , machine in neutral, run the throttle up and down ... Does the pressure vary at 25 lbs or more ?? If so, the filter relief valve poppet is stuck inside the valve spool..
 
the mechanic checked pressure at the drain plug of the transmission it is 150 lbs. but still at the front hydraulic pump it is receiving 0 lbs.
